1. What is my workplace called, and what does it do?
-My work place is called Chavez middle school and i work in the Y.E.P program. It is an after school program that helps the students with their homework afterschool hours.

2.Is it a small business, a medium sized business, or a large corporation?
-It is a small business place because it only has grades 7th and 8th

3.Where is my workplace located and what does it look like?
-My work place is located in Hayward and it is a located in a school and the school is pretty big.

4.How many people work there? 
-There are 4 people working in the program that I am working in.

5.What sorts of people does my workplace employ?
-The type of people that they employ there are the type of people who like working with the kids and are able to help them with their homework and are good with the kids.

6.Do most of the people there have a 4-year college degree, 2-year college degree, or technical certificate?
-The people that work their are still in school.

7.Who does my workplace serve?
- The people that the work place serves are the students that go to school there because it is mostly to help them succeed in school and for them to get their work done.

8.What are the strengths of my workplace?
-The strengths in my workplace is that they like working with the students and are very helpful to the students.  

9.What are the weaknesses of my workplace?
- I dont really see any weaknesses in mny work place.

1.What is my mentor’s name and job? (If I had more than 1, describe them both.)
-My mentors name is Ms. Karen and her job is that she is in charge on the Y.E.P program at Chavez Middle School.

2.What is their typical day (or week) like?
-The typical work day there is that they mostly work with the kids and help them with homework and then play games after the students are done with their homework.

3.How did they become interested in this field and what skills/education background did they need?
-she became interstead in this feild because she wanted to help out the kids and help them get threw school.

Blog#3.What is my main responsibility? What is my “title”?
-My responsibility is to do what ever my mentor wants me to do. I dont relly know what my title really is.

2.What other types of tasks am I completing each week?
-The types of task that I am usually doing are making posters for the sports teams or for the programs that go on at the school. ALso I am sometimes cleaning and organizing things around the room.

3.What is a regular day like? Describe it from start to finish.  Use examples and tell stories.
-A regular day is with me getting there before the kids and making sure the room is clean and just doing what ever my mentor has us usually do, but it mostly I'm posters.

1.Describe what I am thinking I’ll do for my WLE project.
-The thing that i am thinking of to do my project is that I am going to do a art lesson and the kids will have to show negative and positive space by drawing out their body's on top of each other, but ion different ways.
2.How did I come up with this idea?  Explain my thinking.
I came up with this idea by going threw one of my mentors lesson book and i liked the idea of it so i decided to do that.

3.Why am I excited to actually do this project for the next 3-4 weeks?
-I am excited to do this project because it looks like it is something fun for the kids and myself.

4.In Academic Seminar, you’ll get help in actually planning out your project, but for now, type your brainstorm of what you’ll need to accomplish in order to finish your project in the next 3-4 weeks.
-I am going to tell them the difference between positive and negative space and show them examples before i start the project with them. The I am going to start it by having them get into groups and drawing out parts of their body on paper.

1.What did you do at your WLE today?
-What I did at my WLE was that I started to work on my project by creating a poster to show what I am going to be doing with the kids.

2.  What did you and your mentor talk about regarding your project?
- We talked about how I am going to start doing it with the kids next week.

3. What have you accomplished on your project so far?
- I have accomplished how I think i wanna teach it to them and how to tell them what they are going to be doing.

(Think Critically, Complete Projects Effectively, Collaborate Productively, or Communicate Powerfully?)- The leadership skill that I am using the most is Think Critically because during my internship I have to think of ways to make posters for the programs that go on at the school.2.How well am I using this leadership skill at my WLE?  How could I improve?- I am using my leadership skill well at my WLE because when I am there I am always thinking of ways to do things. I can improve by making more projects up and by thinking more of what to do around the school while I am there.3.How does this leadership skill help me do my work?
- This leadership skill helps me do my work because it helps me get my work done when it needs to be done especially coming up with the posters I do.

4.What leadership skill does my mentor use the most?  Why?
- The leadership skill that my mentor uses the most on is Complete Projects Effectively and  Collaborate Productively because she is always doing projects with the after school program and having to get them done all the time. Also she is always talking to the parents of the kids that go there so she is always using Collaborate Productively as a leadership skill.

1.What have I learned about myself (what I can do, what I like) because of this   
       WLE experience?
-What I have learned at my WLE is to be pacience with people espically kids.

2.What challenges did I face during my WLE and how did I overcome, address, or learn from them?
-One challenge I had faced was trying to not get mad at the kids when I was working with them because when I tryed to have them do the work they would'nt do it. I overcame it by trying to keep calm through everythingand try not to get mad at all.

3.What passions, values, or life lessons did I learn from this experience?
-A life lesson that I had learned was to keep calm when you are working with older kids because they can be a hand full sometimes.
4.    How was my creativity put to use during my experience?
-My creativity was put to use by me making posters for aound the school and trying to come up with ways to make it intersting so the kids would read them.

5.How did my WLE placement affect me, a community, my environment, or a particular group of people?
-It offected me by showing how to acted with older kids.

6.What do I believe now that I didn't before about this profession?
-There is nothinbg really.
7.What specific skills did I learn or practice during my WLE that are important in this profession?

8.If someone were to ask me why what I did at my WLE was important, what would I say?
-I would say its important because it helps the kids get a good education.

9.   How will what I have learned from my WLE affect the choices I make in the future?
-It will affect the choices i make in the future by helping me be calm with other people when they are getting me mad.

-Look in the phone book to see where there is a place that was intersting to me.

-Being professional over the fone and have a resume done.

-To talk proper and be polite to people even if your don't like them.

-Today I had worked on my project and help the kids cook in the cokking class.

-I improved as an intern by being more indepent on working and doing things on my own. 

3.What about your workplace makes it a great or not so great place to work?
-One thing about my workplace that makes it great it that they help out the students alot espically with their homework.

- A final thought that I have on my WLE is that it was a good learning experience for me.
2. SENIORS: How will this experience affect your future decisions or goals?
-This experience will affect what I do in the future by showing me that I dont want to becaome a teacher because I wont be able to handle the teenage kids. Also by showing me how to work on my own and be creative when I am doing things.
